To blog or not to blog…
So now that 2018 is almost a quarter gone, I have promised myself that I’ll write a word or two every now and again in this blog, if only to remind myself how quickly time is passing (it’s been 14 months since my last blog, but, that’s cos I have been real busy, honest!).
Firstly, thank you Amy for creating my new website, which will serve both as a portal to remembrance of things past and also as a kind of prompt and promise of things to come.
In the past year or so, apart from completion of my two new films ‘The Secret Gardeners’ and ‘All Of Us,’ I have been involved in the dissemination of the anti forced marriage campaign ‘Our Girl’ with my wonderful colleagues Polly Harrar and Emma Boyd. Here is a clip about the project presented by the brilliant and tireless women’s rights activist Polly covering our 18 month long campaign.
Some news: Last week The Secret Gardeners received the runner up award in the film competition hosted and created by the anti slavery charity Unchosen. The event was moving and uplifting featuring very committed activists who work tirelessly against Modern Slavery today. The winning film was made by a collective of ex domestic workers who were abused by their employers and managed to escape and now help others – a very sad but also optimistic film. First blog coming in April…
